Nawalgarh is renowned for its majestic fort, built in AD 1737 by Thakur Nawal Singh. The Bala Quila boasts a stunning kiosk adorned with intricate ceiling paintings, while the Roop Niwas Palace has been transformed into a luxurious hotel. Similar to Mandawa, Nawalgarh also houses several significant havelis such as Anandi Lal Poddar Haveli, Aath Haveli, Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli, Bhagton Ki Haveli, and Khedwal Bhavan. These grand mansions showcase exquisite architecture and are a must-see for visitors to the city.
Mandawa is a small town in the heart of the Shekhawati region. The place is known not only for its havelis, but also for its Fort Palace. The structure of the palace serves as a reminder of the cultural and social importance this region held in the past. Amongst all the havelis, some notable ones include Chokhani, Ladia, Bansidhar Newatia, and Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli.
Another haveli, the Binsidhar Newatia Haveli, is known for its intriguing paintings. One of them depicts a boy holding a telephone while sitting in a car driven by a chauffeur with a European woman beside him. The Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli is renowned for its erotic images, although most of them have been defaced now.
