Visit to Modhera Sun Temple

Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Sun Temple of Modhera, dedicated to the Sun God, Surya. Built in the early 11th century by King Bhima I of the Solanki dynasty, the temple is an architectural marvel with its intricately carved pillars, the beautifully designed Sabha Mandap (assembly hall), and the sacred Surya Kund (stepwell). Here, you’ll learn about the temple’s alignment with the equinox and its significance in Hindu mythology, making it a must-visit heritage site in Gujarat.
