Tour Plan

5:00 AM – Pickup & Drive to Assi Ghat

Your day begins early. Get picked up from your hotel and head to Assi Ghat, the southernmost ghat in Varanasi. This is the perfect spot to start your journey with peace and serenity.

5:30 AM – Sunrise Boat Ride on the Ganges

Board a traditional wooden rowboat for a sunrise boat ride along the Ganges. Watch the sun rise above the water as you float past famous ghats like Tulsi Ghat, Harishchandra Ghat, and Manikarnika Ghat. See locals performing yoga, bathing, offering prayers, and even cremation ceremonies—all happening side by side.

7:00 AM – Kashi Vishwanath Temple Darshan

After disembarking, walk through narrow lanes to the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of Hinduism’s holiest shrines. If you’ve pre-booked darshan slots (recommended), you’ll have quicker access. Spend time in prayer or simply absorb the energy of the sacred space. Also visit the nearby Annapurna Devi Temple and Vishalakshi Temple, both associated with Shakti worship.

8:00 AM – Traditional Banarasi Breakfast

Stop at a local eatery to enjoy a delicious Banarasi breakfast—kachori-sabzi, jalebi, and a clay cup of spicy masala chai. Optional tasting of seasonal delights like malaiyyo in winter or thandai in summer.

9:00 AM – Walk Through Ghats and Old City Alleys

Take a heritage walk through Varanasi’s iconic ghats and ancient neighborhoods. Walk past:

  • Manikarnika Ghat – the oldest cremation ground.
  • Scindia Ghat – with sunken Shiva temples.
  • Dashashwamedh Ghat – the main ghat where Ganga Aarti is held.
  • Explore markets selling rudraksha malas, silk sarees, woodwork, and sacred souvenirs.
  • Optional: Stop for a lassi break in Godowlia or Vishwanath Gali.

11:00 AM – Visit Durga Kund & Tulsi Manas Temple

Drive or walk to the southern temple belt of Varanasi. Key stops include:

  • Durga Kund Mandir – known as Monkey Temple.
  • Tulsi Manas Temple – where Goswami Tulsidas wrote the Ramcharitmanas.
  • Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple – famous for protection from evil.

12:30 PM – (Optional) Ramnagar Fort Visit

Cross the bridge or take a boat ride across the Ganges to reach the Ramnagar Fort. This 18th-century sandstone fort-palace houses a museum, vintage cars, weapons, and ancient manuscripts.

2:00 PM – Lunch Break

Enjoy a relaxed lunch at a rooftop restaurant or riverside cafe. You can choose between vegetarian thalis, continental food, or authentic Brahmin-style Bhojan depending on your preferences.

3:30 PM – Free Time for Shopping / Cultural Exploration

Stroll through the famous Chowk area, visit a Banarasi sari weaving center, or try street food like tamatar chaat, baati chokha, or banarasi paan.

5:30 PM – Sunset Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat

Reach Dashashwamedh Ghat early to grab the best spot for the Ganga Aarti. Watch priests dressed in saffron robes perform an elaborate ceremony with fire lamps, incense, conch shells, and chants in praise of the river goddess Ganga.

You can watch from the ghat steps or book a seat on a boat for an unforgettable riverside view.
