Discover the beauty of God’s Own Country with our thoughtfully designed Kerala Tour Package from Kochi. This 8-day journey offers a perfect blend of scenic landscapes, cultural heritage, and serene experiences. Start with the colonial charm of Kochi before heading into the misty tea gardens of Munnar. Explore the wild beauty of Thekkady Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and stroll through lush spice plantations. Drift along the palm-fringed canals of Alleppey aboard a traditional houseboat and soak in the tranquillity of Kerala’s backwaters. Unwind at Kovalam’s golden beaches, and witness the magic of the three seas meeting at Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India. Conclude your trip in Trivandrum, carrying unforgettable memories of Kerala’s hills, wildlife, backwaters, and beaches. Whether you are travelling with family, friends, or a partner, this package is crafted to give you the true essence of Kerala.
Your magical Kerala journey begins with a warm welcome at Kochi Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station. From the very first step, you’ll feel the charm of Kerala’s blend of history and modernity. After a comfortable hotel transfer and some time to refresh, set out for a half-day city tour of Kochi.
Start at the enchanting Fort Kochi, where old-world Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences are still alive in every corner. Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets sway gracefully against the Arabian Sea – a sight unique to Kerala. Explore the Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), famous for its exquisite murals, followed by the Jewish Synagogue, a heritage landmark with centuries of culture woven into its walls.
Step inside St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and end your day with a peaceful stroll along Marine Drive, watching the sun sink into the horizon. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay, ready for the adventures ahead.
Overnight Stay: Kochi
After breakfast, your Kerala tour takes you from coastal plains to misty mountains as you drive to Munnar, Kerala’s most loved hill station. The road winds through lush greenery, tea gardens, and waterfalls. On the way, pause to admire the gushing Cheeyappara Waterfalls and the silvery cascade of Valara Waterfalls. From Karadippara Viewpoint, soak in breathtaking vistas of valleys and rolling hills.
You may also stop by a spice plantation to breathe in the fresh aroma of cardamom, pepper, and vanilla. By evening, you’ll arrive in Munnar and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the evening exploring the little town or relaxing amidst the cool mountain breeze.
Overnight Stay: Munnar
Wake up to crisp mountain air and set out to explore the gems of Munnar. Begin with Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and sprawling meadows. Later, visit the fascinating Tea Museum, which tells the story of Munnar’s iconic tea plantations.
Continue your tour with a visit to Mattupetty Dam, a serene spot perfect for photography, and enjoy the natural acoustics of Echo Point. A peaceful boat ride on Kundala Lake offers unforgettable moments amidst misty hills and pine forests. After a day of exploration, return to your hotel to relax.
Overnight Stay: Munnar
After breakfast, check out from Munnar and head to Thekkady, famous for wildlife and spice gardens. The drive through the Western Ghats is scenic and dotted with plantations.
On arrival, explore the renowned Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, where a boat ride on Periyar Lake may reward you with sightings of elephants, deer, and exotic birdlife. Later, visit a spice plantation to see how cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves are grown. You may also enjoy optional activities such as an elephant ride, a Kathakali dance show, or a thrilling Kalari martial arts performance.
Overnight Stay: Thekkady
This morning, your Kerala tour shifts from hills to backwaters. Drive down to Alleppey (Alappuzha), known as the “Venice of the East.” Upon arrival, board a traditional Kerala houseboat, your floating home for the night.
As the boat glides along palm-fringed canals, you’ll witness everyday village life – children waving from the banks, fishermen at work, and women washing clothes by the water. The lush paddy fields and coconut groves add to the charm. Relish freshly cooked Kerala meals on board, and enjoy the serenity of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Overnight Stay: Houseboat in Alleppey (or hotel, if preferred)
After breakfast on the houseboat, drive to Kovalam, Kerala’s iconic beach destination. On the way, you may choose to stop at Krishnapuram Palace or the cliffside Varkala Beach.
Once in Kovalam, check in to your seaside hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Relax on the golden sands of Lighthouse Beach, watch the waves, and witness a mesmerising sunset over the Arabian Sea.
Overnight Stay: Kovalam
Today, embark on a full-day excursion to Kanyakumari, where three oceans – the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean – meet. This sacred and scenic place offers a unique cultural and spiritual experience.
Visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a peaceful monument amidst the sea, and the towering Thiruvalluvar Statue, dedicated to the great Tamil poet-saint. Pay respects at Kanyakumari Temple, admire Gandhi Mandapam, and don’t miss the breathtaking sunset over the ocean’s confluence. Return to Kovalam for an overnight stay.
Overnight Stay: Kovalam
On the final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out. Depending on your departure time, explore the highlights of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). You may visit the world-famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the historic Napier Museum, or the Sree Chitra Art Gallery showcasing traditional Kerala art. Later, you will be dropped at Trivandrum Airport or Railway Station, carrying beautiful memories of your Kerala tour from Kochi – a journey of beaches, backwaters, wildlife, and heritage.
