If you wish to experience India in a way that feels personal, balanced, and thoughtfully planned, Janu Private Tours ensures your journey is smooth, meaningful, and memorable.
The itinerary showcases a slow and meaningful journey through India’s most iconic destinations like Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. It emphasizes cultural experiences such as Ganga Aarti, sunrise boat rides, heritage stays, palace visits, and local market exploration.
Amritara Suryauday Haveli / BrijRama Palace
You will begin your trip upon arrival in Delhi, where you will meet your representative, who will assist you with your domestic flight to Varanasi.
Upon your arrival in Varanasi, which is one of the oldest inhabited cities, you will be transferred to a heritage hotel adjacent to the Ganges River. Heritage hotels are ideal because they provide a serene atmosphere and great views of the Ganges River.
In the evening, you will have the opportunity to attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony, which takes place on the banks of the Ganges River. This event features the lighting of lamps, chanting, and reflection on the river. After attending the Ganga Aarti ceremony, you will return to your hotel for a relaxing dinner and some rest.
Amritara Suryauday Haveli / BrijRama Palace
Begin your second day in Varanasi with a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges River. As the sun rises, the Ganges River comes to life as the priests perform their daily rituals, the locals resume their daily life, and the city slowly wakes up.
Following the boat ride on the Ganges River, you will have your breakfast and then go on a guided walking tour of the old city. During the walking tour, you will visit many ancient temples, local marketplaces, and other hidden areas within the old city of Varanasi.
At the end of the walking tour, you will depart for Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon after achieving enlightenment. Visiting Sarnath provides a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the ghats.
The remainder of the day will be yours to use as you wish. You may choose to return to the riverfront area of Varanasi or simply enjoy the view from your hotel room.
On Board the Train or via Flight
The third day of your tour of India will be a leisurely day, allowing you to rest and spend some quality time doing what you want to do. If you would like to revisit the ghats, purchase some local handicraft items, or just enjoy a leisurely breakfast with a view of the Ganges River, today is the perfect day to do so.
Later in the day, you will depart from Varanasi and board either the overnight train to Agra or take a late evening flight to Agra.
If you opt for the overnight train, you will be able to experience the classic way of traveling in India. Additionally, if you would prefer to travel to Agra by flight rather than taking the train, we can arrange for a late evening flight to Agra.
Courtyard Agra / ITC Mughal / The Oberoi Amarvilas
You arrive in Agra by morning and are transferred to your hotel. Complete the check-in process, freshen up, and have your breakfast. Shortly, we will begin with the exploration.
You visit the Taj Mahal, which is considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world. You will have the chance to understand the historical, symbolic, and artistic significance of the Taj with your guide while walking through its garden and marble pathways. The visit is relaxed and serene.
Next, you go to the Agra Fort (Red Fort), where Mughal emperors used to live. The fort has balconies from where you can see the Taj Mahal from afar.
After that, you will continue exploring Agra before returning to your hotel for dinner and rest.
Samode Haveli / Alsisar Haveli / Jai Mahal Palace / The Oberoi Rajvilas
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. En route, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a beautifully preserved Mughal city that was once a royal capital.
Arrive in Jaipur and check into your hotel. These heritage properties reflect royal architecture, calm courtyards, and warm hospitality.
The evening is free. Relax at the hotel or enjoy a quiet walk nearby.
Samode Haveli / Alsisar Haveli / Jai Mahal Palace / The Oberoi Rajvilas
Begin sightseeing with a visit to Amber Fort, set high above the city. Explore its courtyards and halls while enjoying views of the surrounding hills.
Continue to the City Palace, followed by Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. Stop at Hawa Mahal, known for its many small windows.
In the afternoon, head towards Jodhpur. Travel onward to Jodhpur, known for its blue-painted houses and desert setting. On arrival, check into your hotel, many of which are restored royal residences.
Devi Bhawan / Ajit Bhawan / RAAS Jodhpur
After your breakfast, we will start with the Jodhpur tour.
Visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s most impressive hill forts. Walk through its courtyards and galleries while enjoying wide views of the city below. Next, we will also explore the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada, and the Ghanta Ghar.
In the evening, explore local markets filled with spices, handicrafts, and textiles. Dinner is relaxed and unhurried.
Shiv Niwas Palace / Jagat Niwas Palace / Trident, Udaipur
After breakfast, drive to Udaipur, known for its lakes and romantic setting. The road journey offers glimpses of rural Rajasthan.
Arrive in Udaipur and check into your hotel overlooking Lake Pichola or set within palace grounds. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, passing palaces glowing at sunset.
Dinner is served in a peaceful lakeside setting.
Udaipur
Explore City Palace, a complex of courtyards and royal rooms overlooking the lake. Visit Saheliyon Ki Bari, a quiet garden built for royal women.
The afternoon is free for rest, shopping, or enjoying the view from your hotel. Udaipur offers a gentle and graceful end to the journey.
After breakfast, it is time to begin your onward journey. You will be assisted with your transfer to the airport or railway station, depending on your departure plans. Our team will ensure that all arrangements are handled smoothly so you can travel without any last-minute concerns.
