Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrive in Delhi & Fly to Varanasi

Accommodations:

Amritara Suryauday Haveli / BrijRama Palace

You will begin your trip upon arrival in Delhi, where you will meet your representative, who will assist you with your domestic flight to Varanasi.

Upon your arrival in Varanasi, which is one of the oldest inhabited cities, you will be transferred to a heritage hotel adjacent to the Ganges River. Heritage hotels are ideal because they provide a serene atmosphere and great views of the Ganges River.

In the evening, you will have the opportunity to attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony, which takes place on the banks of the Ganges River. This event features the lighting of lamps, chanting, and reflection on the river. After attending the Ganga Aarti ceremony, you will return to your hotel for a relaxing dinner and some rest.

Day 2: Varanasi – Sunrise Boat Rides & Walking Tours of the Old City

Accommodations:

Amritara Suryauday Haveli / BrijRama Palace

Begin your second day in Varanasi with a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges River. As the sun rises, the Ganges River comes to life as the priests perform their daily rituals, the locals resume their daily life, and the city slowly wakes up.

Following the boat ride on the Ganges River, you will have your breakfast and then go on a guided walking tour of the old city. During the walking tour, you will visit many ancient temples, local marketplaces, and other hidden areas within the old city of Varanasi.

At the end of the walking tour, you will depart for Sarnath, where the Buddha gave his first sermon after achieving enlightenment. Visiting Sarnath provides a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the ghats.

The remainder of the day will be yours to use as you wish. You may choose to return to the riverfront area of Varanasi or simply enjoy the view from your hotel room.

Day 3: Varanasi – Free Time and Travel to Agra via Overnight Train

Accommodations:

On Board the Train or via Flight

The third day of your tour of India will be a leisurely day, allowing you to rest and spend some quality time doing what you want to do. If you would like to revisit the ghats, purchase some local handicraft items, or just enjoy a leisurely breakfast with a view of the Ganges River, today is the perfect day to do so.

Later in the day, you will depart from Varanasi and board either the overnight train to Agra or take a late evening flight to Agra.

If you opt for the overnight train, you will be able to experience the classic way of traveling in India. Additionally, if you would prefer to travel to Agra by flight rather than taking the train, we can arrange for a late evening flight to Agra.
