Welcome to a most unforgettable journey through the most breathtaking regions of India, where ancient palaces and royal forts hold the secrets of the kings and queens from centuries past. This Imperial Rajasthan tour takes you through Rajasthan, the largest state. Experience the legacy, culture, tradition, and historical forts of Rajasthan.
The journey will lead you deeper into the heart of the desert of Rajasthan. Along this journey, you will be staying at well-selected hotels, including heritage hotels as well as luxury hotels. This will give you a touch of royalty as well as maximum comfort during your journey.
With Janu Private Tours, every aspect of travel is private and carefully arranged. Hotels are selected because of their charm and strategic positioning. Car drives are comfortable. The itinerary is well-planned to ensure that we do not rush the journey.
Hotel: The Imperial New Delhi / Maidens Hotel
Your journey starts in Delhi, which is a place where history and modern life coexist. After your arrival at the airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in and some time to freshen up, begin exploring Old Delhi in the afternoon. Visit Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest and oldest mosques, and ride in a rickshaw through the markets of Chandni Chowk, experiencing the food, clothes, shops, and family-run businesses that have been there for generations. Return to the hotel in the evening.
Hotel: Courtyard Agra / The Oberoi Amarvilas / ITC Mughal
After breakfast, drive past New Delhi’s sights, including India Gate and Humayun’s Tomb, before departing for Agra in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. On arrival, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, explore Agra Fort, a vast Mughal structure that once served as a royal residence. As evening approaches, visit the Taj Mahal, walking slowly through the gardens and absorbing its symmetry and scale in the softer evening light.
Hotel: Samode Haveli / Alsisar Haveli / Jai Mahal Palace
An optional sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal is available, allowing you to experience the marble changing tones in the early morning light. Afterwards, continue onward to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital. On arrival, check into your heritage hotel — a former royal residence, restored and refurbished to retain its courtyards, local architecture, and modern comfort. Spend the evening relaxing at the hotel or take a short walk around.
Hotel: Samode Haveli / Alsisar Haveli / Jai Mahal Palace
Jaipur is famous for its planning, symmetry, and royal past. Start with the Amber Fort, located outside the main city, and take a tour of its courtyards, halls, and terraces. Then visit the City Palace, still inhabited by the royal family, with museums featuring textiles, arms, and paintings. Proceed to Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory, and stop for photos at the famous Hawa Mahal. After sightseeing, enjoy shopping, dining, or a relaxing spa.
Hotel: Laxmi Niwas Palace / Narendra Bhawan
After breakfast, depart for Bikaner, a desert city known for its Rajput heritage and camel-breeding traditions. Break your journey for lunch en route before arriving in Bikaner by afternoon. Check into your heritage hotel and spend the evening exploring the city’s old bazaars, sampling local Bikaneri snacks like bhujia and namkeen.
Hotel: Hotel Gulaal / Hotel Nachana Haveli
In the morning, visit Junagarh Fort, one of the few forts in Rajasthan never conquered, known for its intricate architecture and preserved royal interiors. After breakfast at the hotel, continue your drive to Jaisalmer. The landscapes start changing slowly as you enter the desert tones, with Jaisalmer rising from the sand, built entirely of golden stone. Arrive and check into your heritage hotel. Enjoy a quiet evening, watching the sunset from your rooftop or a relaxed dinner.
Hotel: Hotel Gulaal / Hotel Nachana Haveli
Explore Jaisalmer Fort, one of the few living forts in the world, where homes, temples, and shops still function within its walls. Visit Patwon Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli, known for their detailed carvings and merchant histories. Later, head to Sam Sand Dunes for a gentle desert experience and a rare sense of space and serenity.
Hotel: Devi Bhawan / Ajit Bhawan / RAAS Jodhpur
After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur through desert villages and open landscapes. Jodhpur stands at the base of the enormous Mehrangarh Fort, with blue-painted houses lining its old city. Arrive at your heritage hotel and rest. In the evening, explore the local bazaars around the Clock Tower, teeming with spices, textiles, and daily trade.
Hotel: Devi Bhawan / Ajit Bhawan / RAAS Jodhpur
After breakfast, visit Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s most magnificent hill forts, exploring its museums, courtyards, and viewpoints. Continue to Umaid Bhawan Palace, both a residence and a museum reflecting a later royal period. The rest of the day is available for cafe hopping, shopping, or resting.
Hotel: Shiv Niwas Palace / Jagat Niwas Palace / Trident Udaipur
Drive towards Udaipur via the Aravalli hills, stopping at the Ranakpur Jain temples, famous for their marble carvings and peaceful surroundings. Reach Udaipur and check into your lakeside hotel. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, appreciating the reflection of the palace lights on the water.
Hotel: Shiv Niwas Palace / Jagat Niwas Palace / Trident Udaipur
After breakfast, explore City Palace, Bagore Ki Haveli, and Saheliyon Ki Bari. Spend time in the local markets for shopping. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner by the lake, bringing a smooth close to your journey.
The tour ends here. After breakfast and check-out, our representative will transfer you to Udaipur Airport in time for your flight. Fly to Delhi and connect to your onward international flight from there, marking a smooth and comfortable conclusion to your Rajasthan heritage journey.
